Moving over
How to move from TV Time to emberslate
- 01
Find your TV Time export
TV Time let you request a copy of your data before it shut down. Keep that file somewhere safe — it is the only copy of your history.
- 02
Pre-register for emberslate
emberslate is available for pre-registration on Google Play. Pre-register now and you will be notified when it launches on Android.
- 03
Import and review
Choose your TV Time file in emberslate's import. Before anything is saved, you review which titles matched.
- 04
Apply it
Apply the import to your library. Nothing already in your emberslate library is overwritten.
What carries over
- The shows and films you tracked
- Watch dates for what you have seen
- Your ratings and favourites
- Watchlist and progress status
You review every match before it is applied, and nothing already in your library is overwritten. The same import works for Trakt exports.
After the move
What you get after the move
- Episode-level progress

- Release reminders
- Episode release notifications for the shows you follow, with quiet hours for when you don't want them.
- Stats and history
- A month-by-month timeline and viewing stats built only from what you actually recorded.
- Discussion and friends
- Follow people, compare taste, and talk about a title or the exact episode you just watched.

Questions
TV Time shutdown questions
Did TV Time shut down?
Yes. TV Time shut down on 15 July 2026. Its apps were removed from the App Store and Google Play, the tvtime.com website went offline, and TV Time said personal user data would be deleted after that date.
Can I still export my TV Time data?
TV Time's export was available through the app until the shutdown on 15 July 2026. If you requested an export before then, keep the file: you can import it into emberslate. If you did not, TV Time said personal data would be deleted, and emberslate has no way to recover it.
What carries over from TV Time into emberslate?
emberslate's import reads the titles you tracked, watch dates, ratings, favourites and statuses from your export. You review the matched titles before anything is applied, and the import never overwrites entries already in your emberslate library. The uploaded file is read in memory and not stored as a file on our servers.
Is emberslate free?

Is emberslate available on iPhone?
Not at the moment. emberslate is an Android app, available for pre-registration on Google Play. No other platforms have been announced.
Can I import from Trakt too?
Yes. emberslate imports an existing library from Trakt the same way it does from TV Time, with the same review step before anything is applied.
Is emberslate connected to TV Time?
No. emberslate is an independent app made by emberfold labs. It is not affiliated with TV Time, Whip Media or Trakt; it can simply read the export files they provide.
